Welcome to the wonderful world of labor law and leadership!
This course is aimed at those of you who work as a manager or work with HR and support managers in their everyday lives.
This is both a course and your labor law reference book.
You can choose whether you want to read the course from the first page to the last or watch it as is and go from section to section depending on what is of interest at the moment. However, I can recommend that you who work as a manager actually go through all the sections so that you have a good idea of when specific questions arise in your employee group. For example, it may make sense to know when one of your employees is entitled to time off due to a family member being seriously ill when this is requested.
Law is the study of the interpretation and application of legal rules. Law is very rarely black and white, there are many gray areas around what is right and wrong. This is because the legislator, through a law, for example LAS, draws up the starting points and then leaves it to the courts through judgments which then become practice, constituting how different dimensions of a situation should be assessed.
The course is not intended to be exhaustive legal advice in the individual case. It is important to keep in mind that it is often necessary to speak to a lawyer when tricky questions arise in the workplace. Not least in situations that may involve a risk of damages such as dismissals and various types of handling of negligence.
